Plastic pipe systems have become more and more common in modern construction for the distribution of cold water, hot water, ventilation and drainage. These plastic pipes typically will be routed through compartment walls and floors compromising previous fire-rated systems. Failure to fire stop combustible pipes could facilitate the spread of fire throughout a building.
